Obituary for Nicholas Halfrey

HUBBARDSTON- Nicholas Michael Halfrey, 16, earned his angel wings on Wednesday, February 1,2017 after a 15 month courageous battle with cancer. He was born on July 9, 2000 the beloved son of Craig and Krystal (Moluski) Halfrey of Hubbardston. Nicholas last days were spent at home surrounded by loving family and friends in the clubhouse he designed that was built for him by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

NIck was a sophomore at Quabbin Region High School and was an avid extreme sports enthusiast. He spent his free time BMX biking and dirt biking with his friends. He also enjoyed spending time with his parents, younger brother Jacob and JJ the love of his life, who was there helping to take care of him until the very end. They were married on January 30,2017 in his clubhouse before his time ran out. Nick had a big heart and loved animals especially the family's two little dogs and the two kittens that he and his brother picked out last summer.

Nick leaves behind his wife of two days, Jillian "JJ" Simpson of Barre and many, many close friends, who usually lived at the house on weekends; his parents and brothers Jacob of Hubbardston and Sean Rosati of Los Angeles; paternal grandmother Janice Halfrey of Hubbardston; maternal grandparents Karen and Timothy Cawrse of Vermont and Walter Moluski of Shirley; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Our hearts are broken and will never be the same. I gave him a plaque that said: "Always remember you are braver than you think, stronger than you seem and loved more than you know" (from mom). We will miss you so much Nick, but will see you again soon.

Calling hours for Nick are Tuesday, February 7,2017 from 3-5 PM in Pillsbury Funeral Home 96 S.Barre Rd. Barre.
